### Slope shading

Visualize slopes with high avalanche hazard. Slope angle ranges are color coded according to the legend below.

### Slope highlight

Highlight a specific slope angle range. This is useful for finding slopes in your target angle, i.e. 20-30º for low angle days. Or for highlighting flat areas to avoid.

### Data source

This layer is produced using the highest resolution data available, including LiDAR at 1m resolution covering most of the US.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Slope angle is not a perfect indicator of avalanche potential. It's always possible that the angle has been underestimated, or that the actual angle is steeper on small, localized slopes. Always verify angles with a slope meter, and seek proper education before venturing into avalanche terrain.
